Delicious food. I'm not pretending to know Indian/ Napalese food well but this restaurant served many typical Indian dishes. The service was so warm and welcoming. It seemed to be a family owned business. The ambience was a typical casual restaurant, not overly decorated. - Veggie momo: I have a momo obsession and I tried many places from Bini's to The Basecamp, etc. This place had a great filling and dipping sauce. The dipping sauce was more nutty, less tomato-y. The skin was a tad thick at the top but still great. - A mashed eggplant dish: very delicious. It surprised our table. - Dahi Puri: best when fresh. It tasted homemade. They could add a little more tamarind. I preferred it to ve a little more tangy. They also served chutneys and papadam on the table free of charge. How nice of them! I would definitely be back.

My boyfriend and I decided on this place for dinner one night based on the good yelp reviews and the fact that it was walkable from our new place and it did not disappoint! First off, the server was so nice and attentive! Although he wasn't super talkative(I actually preferred this haha) he came to check on our table and a few times and always made sure our water glass was filled. Onto the food! We were given a small appetizer of some papadum and dipping sauce on the house which I thought was such a nice touch! The chips were delicious! Nice and savory and had a really good crispiness to them. They also went really well with the mint and tamarind dipping sauces. For our entrees, we order the lamb thali and the chicken thali. Both were so good and had a nice mix of a little bit of everything! The curries were both so flavorful and the meat was extremely tender. My least favorite thing on the plate was the dal(lentils) but I don't think I've liked it any time I've had it so I'm probably just not a dal gal lol Overall, 5/5 experience and I'd definitely come back to try out some of their other dishes!

If you want a true taste of Himalayan flavors, the Sampler at Himalayan Cuisine SF is the way to go! This dish is packed with a variety of flavors and textures that highlight the best of the menu. The sampler includes an assortment of traditional items--juicy momos, tender tandoori chicken, and flavorful lentil dal--all served with freshly made naan that's perfect for scooping up every bit. Each item was beautifully spiced, with a great balance of heat and rich Himalayan flavors. The portions were generous, making it ideal for sharing or even as a satisfying meal for one. The service was warm and attentive, with staff ready to explain each item and answer any questions. Himalayan Cuisine SF feels welcoming, and the sampler is the perfect introduction to their menu. Highly recommend for anyone looking to explore authentic Himalayan dishes!

Excellent chicken tikka masala here. I was pleasantly surprised by the free appetizer: pappardum with mint and tamarind chutneys.

Hugeee portion sizes and super kind waiters! I split the saag paneer, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan with a friend. We did not finish the dishes lol. Very flavorful and reasonably priced too.

honestly this place was actually such a banger and I literally have no words. I'm docking it down a star because the service was actually quite abysmal and all of the food took a while to get here + getting the actual payment. but the food itself was great and even though it looks like small portions, it was actually super filling and really yummy. totally recommend getting the momo's which is what himalayan food is known for and everything is amazing

I recently tried Himalayan Cuisine SF and had a pretty good experience in their casual, laid-back dining space. The vegetarian chili momos were delicious but definitely on the spicy side--after a few, my nose was running! Thankfully, their mango lassi was the perfect balance to cool down the spice. They also started us off with free papadum, which was a nice touch, and the vegetarian chow mein was flavorful and well-cooked. The service was a bit slow, but considering how affordable the food is for San Francisco, I didn't mind too much. I'd definitely come back again for another round of momos and chow mein!

Himalayan Cuisine? Okay I'm open minded. Count me in. I've walked by this place a million times and this day I was feeling adventurous. I wasn't disappointed. The people in here are incredibly nice. It's super low key and very hole in the wall. A nice quiet place to eat in a very busy area. As far as the food, I got the chicken chilli momo and garlic naan. The momo I think is just their version of a dumpling. These were really good but the portion size was not enough. I could have eaten 37 of these no problem. The garlic naan wasn't great. I'm led believe this place knows what it's doing. I'll most likely be back. Good work everyone. (4.1 Stars)

I love the food here! I've never had Himalayan food before but after eating here it feels like a mix of Indian and Chinese food. I really like their Chicken Tikka Masala. Their Tandoori Paneer Kabob was also good. It was also nice to try their Vegetable Thali. The service was also really great here. They are attentive. We requested more time to browse the menu, but we didn't need to flag them down again to put in our order--they just showed up a few minutes later and took our order. Also when it came to packing leftovers we didn't have to ask for boxes. They came by the table and dropped some off. As for the restaurant itself I like how they accent the restaurant with a bright orange. It's not the most modern-looking restaurant but I feel that makes it feel homey. Also they have 1 bathroom in the back. I thoroughly enjoyed this place and definitely will come again if I'm in the area.
